Group Overview

Women’s Relational Distress Group is an ongoing virtual therapy group for female-identified adults who are navigating the emotional impact of relationship distress, separation or divorce.

This group offers a supportive and connecting space to process the emotional realities of being in an an unhealthy relationship while learning practical, evidence-based skills to help regulate emotions, work through anger and resentment, and rebuild identity and stability a painful season of life.

The group blends structured skills with thoughtful group process, allowing members to feel both supported and actively equipped with tools they can use in daily life.

Who This Group Is For

This group is designed for women who are:

  • Those who are feeling overwhelmed, resentful, frustrated and stuck in unhealthy patterns in their relationships

  • Currently going through separation or divorce

  • Post-divorce and still experiencing emotional disruption, grief, anger, or identity shifts

  • Wanting both emotional support and practical coping skills

  • Looking for connection with others who understand the unique challenges of being in a romantic relationship that is not currently meeting your needs

  • Residing in California and able to participate in virtual group therapy

Group Focus & Therapeutic Approach

Women’s Relational Distress Group is skills-based and process-oriented, integrating evidence-based therapy approaches and mindfulness practices.

Primary areas of focus include:

  • Emotion regulation
    Learning tools to manage intense emotions such as anxiety, sadness, anger, and overwhelm without shutting down or escalating conflict.

  • Anger and resentment
    Understanding anger responses, reducing reactivity, and working through resentment in a contained, supportive environment.

  • Identity rebuilding
    Exploring shifts in identity, self-trust, and sense of self following the end of a relationship.

  • Acceptance and values-based coping
    Developing skills to navigate what cannot be changed while reconnecting with personal values and forward movement.

  • Mindfulness and present-moment awareness
    Building capacity to stay grounded and reduce rumination about the past or fear about the future.

Group Format

  • Ongoing group with rolling admission

  • Virtual (telehealth)

  • California residents only

  • Tuesdays at 11am

  • 60-minute sessions

  • Cash-pay only: $95 per session

Because the group is ongoing, members may join at different points. Content follows repeating themes, allowing new members to integrate smoothly without disrupting the group process.
