Welcome to my practice.

About Me

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in the Bay Area, seeing clients in person at my Albany, CA office and virtually throughout California. I specialize in couples therapy, working with partners navigating high-conflict dynamics. I'm trained in the Gottman Method (completed level 2 training) and intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Alongside my couples work, I also bring deep expertise in blended families, stepparents, remarriage, and coparenting, informed in part by my own experience as a stepparent.

Support for couples navigating change and conflict

Relationships change shape over time, and some of the biggest shifts, a new baby, a career change, a health scare, an empty nest, can put even a strong partnership under real strain. Other couples come to me already in the thick of high conflict: the same argument on repeat, communication that shuts down fast, or a sense that you're no longer on the same team.

My work with couples draws from the Gottman Method, giving us a research-backed roadmap for rebuilding trust, repairing conflict, and deepening connection. I'm also intensively trained in DBT, which is especially useful when emotions escalate quickly and conversations need real structure to stay productive. Whether you're moving through a life transition together or trying to find your way out of a high-conflict pattern, my goal is to help you feel both supported and equipped with tools you can use right away.

Why I do this work

Part of why this work matters to me personally is my own experience as a stepparent. I understand the specific joys and specific challenges of blending a family from the inside, not just from a textbook, and that lived experience shapes how I show up with all my clients, whether you're a couple facing a major transition, working through conflict, or navigating a blended family. Clients tell me that this makes a real difference in feeling understood from the first session.

Extended expertise in blended families, stepparents & coparenting

Alongside my couples work, I have deep experience supporting blended families through the specific challenges of remarriage, stepparenting, and coparenting. Whether you're a stepparent still finding your footing, a parent building a coparenting relationship that actually works, or a family adjusting to life after remarriage, this is an area I know well, both professionally and personally.

My approach: DBT and CBT, made practical

I'm intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which means our work together will focus on real, usable skills: regulating big emotions, communicating effectively even in tense moments, and staying grounded when things get hard. I'm also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps us identify the thought patterns that quietly shape how you respond to stress and conflict, and shift them toward something healthier.

Together, these give you both the internal tools to manage hard emotions and the practical strategies to change unhelpful patterns, not just talk about them.
